Fortune Rewind

Fortune Rewind Slot Review

Fortune Rewind is a time-travel themed online slot developed by Play’n GO and released in September 2022. The game follows the adventurous scientist Dr. Tempis, who is searching through different eras of history in hopes of finding her missing father. Armed with a mysterious time-travel device, she jumps unpredictably between timelines, visiting places such as prehistoric lands filled with dinosaurs, the Wild West frontier, futuristic cities, and even the colorful 1980s. Each spin of the reels represents another leap through time, making the gameplay feel like a journey across multiple historical worlds.

Unlike many traditional slots that stay fixed within a single theme, Fortune Rewind constantly shifts between time periods. The slot uses a 5-reel, 3-row layout with 20 fixed paylines, allowing players to form winning combinations across the reels. The background and symbols change depending on which era Dr. Tempis arrives in, creating a dynamic visual experience. Alongside the time-travel theme, the game includes several innovative features such as Wild Rewinds, Fast Forward upgrades, and Time Warp Free Spins, all designed around manipulating time itself.

Theme and Design

Fortune Rewind revolves around the concept of time travel and historical exploration. The main character, Dr. Tempis, is a scientist equipped with a mysterious time-travel device that randomly sends her to different moments in history. The storyline centers around her search for her father as she travels across timelines.

The visual presentation of the game changes depending on the era being visited. Players may find themselves in a prehistoric environment filled with dinosaurs, a dusty Wild West town with sheriff badges and revolvers, a retro 1980s setting with cassette players, or even a futuristic world full of advanced technology.

Fortune Rewind Slot Structure

• Reels: 5
• Rows: 3
• Paylines: 20 Fixed
• Theme: Time Travel / Historical Adventure
• Special Features: Wild Rewind, Fast Forward, Time Warp Free Spins

The slot uses a traditional payline system where all 20 paylines remain active throughout the game. Winning combinations occur when identical symbols appear on adjacent reels from left to right starting from the first reel.

How to Play

Fortune Rewind features a straightforward interface that allows players to adjust their total bet before spinning the reels.

• Locate the Bet menu at the bottom of the screen
• Adjust the stake using the plus and minus buttons
• Choose a total bet between 0.10 and 100 credits per spin

• Use the Autoplay feature to run automatic spins

The wide betting range makes the slot accessible to both beginners and experienced high-stake players.

Base Game Mechanics

During the base game, players spin the reels in hopes of forming winning combinations across the 20 active paylines. Matching symbols must appear on consecutive reels starting from the leftmost reel.

Each spin also determines the timeline where Dr. Tempis arrives. Different eras may introduce slightly different visual environments, but the core gameplay remains the same.

The base game also introduces two important time-manipulation features: Wild Rewind and Fast Forward. These mechanics can dramatically change the outcome of spins by respinning symbols or upgrading existing wins.

Symbols and Payouts

Fortune Rewind includes ten regular symbols inspired by different historical timelines.

High-Paying Symbols

The highest payouts come from special timeline symbols representing different eras.

• Dinosaur
• Anubis Statue
• Sheriff Badge
• Walkman Cassette Player
• Futuristic Booster Boots
• Time Bracelet / Watch

Five matching high-value symbols can deliver payouts ranging from 20x to 23x the total bet depending on the icon.

These symbols represent different moments in history, reinforcing the time-travel theme.

Low-Value Symbols

Four card rank symbols represent the lower-value icons.

• A
• K
• Q
• J

These metallic card symbols provide smaller rewards but appear frequently on the reels, helping create regular winning combinations.

Wild Symbol

The Wild Power Cell symbol plays a major role in Fortune Rewind.

Wild symbols substitute for all regular symbols except the scatter symbol. They help complete additional winning combinations across the reels.

If wild symbols form a winning line on their own, they can deliver a payout of up to 500x the total bet for five matching symbols. Because wilds can appear on all reels, they provide strong potential for large combinations.

Bonuses & Special Features

Fortune Rewind includes several time-based bonus mechanics that bring the theme to life.

Wild Rewind Feature

The Wild Rewind feature activates during non-winning spins. If a Wild Power Cell symbol appears but no winning combination is formed, the game may trigger a rewind effect.

During this feature:

• Symbols surrounding the wild are respun
• Additional Wild Power Cells may be added to the reels
• The process continues until a winning combination is created

This mechanic represents traveling backward in time to change the outcome of an unsuccessful spin.

Fast Forward Feature

The Fast Forward feature occurs on winning spins.

When triggered:

• Winning symbols are upgraded into higher-value symbols
• Surrounding symbols are respun
• The upgraded symbols can create larger winning combinations

This feature represents moving forward through time and improving an already successful spin.

Time Warp Free Spins

The Time Modulator symbol acts as the Scatter symbol.

Landing three, four, or five scatter symbols anywhere on the reels activates the Time Warp Free Spins round.

Players receive:

• 3 Scatters: 15 free spins with a 15x multiplier
• 4 Scatters: 15 free spins with a 17x multiplier
• 5 Scatters: 15 free spins with a 20x multiplier

During free spins:

• Players travel through different historical eras
• Each era introduces a special Era Wanted symbol
• Wins containing the wanted symbol receive the multiplier bonus
• Only high-paying symbols appear on the reels

Additional scatters during the feature can award extra free spins, increasing the potential for larger payouts.

RTP & Volatility

• RTP (Return to Player): Up to 96.27%
• Volatility: High

The slot offers multiple RTP versions depending on the casino configuration. The high volatility means that wins may occur less frequently, but they can be significantly larger when they appear.

Mobile Compatibility

Fortune Rewind is fully optimized for desktop, tablet, and mobile devices. The slot adapts automatically to different screen sizes while maintaining all visual effects and gameplay features.

Players can easily adjust their bets, activate autoplay, and spin the reels using touchscreen controls on smartphones and tablets. The animated time-travel transitions remain smooth and responsive across all devices.

Tips to Play

• Play with a balanced bankroll due to the high volatility
• Watch for wild symbols to trigger the rewind feature
• Free spins offer the highest payout potential
• Higher bets can increase overall win values
• Try the demo version to understand the time-travel mechanics
